I'm not aware of there being other books like this, but to get the coverage of the german milk cows this is a great book. Goes into excellent details on the operations of the german submarines and when the allies start attacking and sinking them. If you are interested in the german submarines, reading this book is an excellent way to learn about teh submarine war in the central and southern atlantic.Plus, the kindle version, such a great deal compared to the hardcover.

Excellent read! If you want to know the details on what these Milk Cows experienced, then this is the book to read. The only error I noted was Mr. White's statement that all members of U-boats crews were volunteers. Not so! Many were transferred over from other branches of the military due to Navy's difficultly in filling all the boats as losses increased. Nevertheless, the book was very informative, and was an enjoyable read. I strongly recommend to anyone into detail life of U-boat arm of the German Navy.

Great book on this little know subject. Book shows the develpoment of these subs and where they operated. Book goes into detail as to why the germans developed these sub for their continued operational needs. Great idea but all sub are sunk and the amount of operations these subs conduct to help re-supply the fighting subs is worth reading.

Book was everything I expected

Lots of names, dates, times, u- boat numbers, but I enjoyed a different look into the submarine warfare from the logistics side. A short read but I felt worth the money purchased.

I have recently purchased 12 different books on Luther and the Reformation and I did so by reading various reviews of each.....I have never heardof this author but I am mightily impressed with this Book and so much so I have ordered the 2 other volumes.This is more for the serious student of Luther no doubt. This is heavy and dense with much material and yet it holds the readers attention through out. As a novice on Luther, I am learning so much here and I am not on the 2nd Volume of this epic serious.I cannot recommend this highly enough! Thank goodness this was translated into English!

Pastor husband reading these for use in sermon series during Reformation 500. LOVES THEM - tells me stories of Martin Luther every night at supper.

The author is expert in his field, and the translator does a superb job of translating from the German. Luther comes across as some consumed with doubts and fears, and is bound determined to conquer these anxieties within his context, regardless of the ramifications.

How can anyone not appreciate the work of Martin Brecht. This volume, among the 3, provides terrific insights into Martin Luther's early years...probably the most essential for anyone wishing to understand the Reformer.

I ordered this product because I heard it was one of the best biographies of Martin Luther and it does not disappoint! I am about 200 pages into the book and it is very fascinating. The author is very detailed!The book itself is also better than expected, since I only paid $4 for it. It is in very good shape, the only flaw was the binding was worn from being read before.

Any one that wants to know what it was that was the motivation in Martin Luther's journey, needs to have this in the library! My only problem is that now I will have to order the other two volumes in the series! :)

While I haven't read the book yet and am not at all commenting on the value of the content, I was shocked when it arrived and I opened it up to thumb through it to notice that it doesn't appear to even have been typeset, but photocopied. It is VERY difficult to read. Many of the illustrations are so highly contrasted that they are difficult to view in any detail. I'm guessing that the publisher simply digitally copied the hardcover version of this book, though I'm not certain about that. Whatever the method of creating it, I would suggest either purchasing a hardcover copy if you can find one or wait for this one to come out on the Kindle (if you have one), as the other two volumes of this trilogy are already available on the kindle. I'm hoping that I don't have the same problem with the typeface on the kindle, though given the poor quality of this book it may take me years to get through it and on to 2nd volume.

This is a lovely collection of poems between women, enhanced immeasurably by Donoghue's intelligent introduction and her pithy biographies of the writers. It ranges over four centuries so includes a variety of poetic styles and personal sentiments, from friendship to love to sexual intimacy. Some of the selections from the earliest period of the 1600s are real finds but it was also delightful to rediscover the woman-centeredness of 19th and 20th century poets like Rossetti, Dickinson, Millay and Amy Lowell.I especially enjoyed May Swenson's playful "Poet to Tiger." It inspired me to look up Swenson's work and, lo and behold, The Library of America is publishing May Swenson: Collected Poems: (Library of America #239) this year in honor of the centenary of her birth. Other poems in this collection are likely to inspire readers to pursue their own favorite's work in more depth. The book may be a bit pricey for some, but I thought it was well worth it.

Interesting side to literary and lesbian history. Very enlightening and enjoyable too.

If this creepy lab thing didn't exist, I would rate 4 or 5 stars for this book since book contains a lot of real-world best-practises. But authors designed the material by assuming 'every reader can afford 7$ per hour for our labs', this destroys the overall quality.Since you're a new-learner for some advanced stuff, you need to do it on the lab. First, you pay 35$ (yes there is minimum credit requirement for 5 credits for your first order(!)) but for example when you're stuck in an example and can't finish your experiment, you kind of waste your very expensive credits. The feeling that you are missing something is bad because you know you can't afford (7$ per hour, really!) till all things are clear!Also there isn't any 'pause your session' option for your lab sessions. If you start, you must finish it! This is ridiculous...I want to be optimistic about labs; yeah, there are fees for servers and bandwidth, but I think, if their plan is teaching good rather than making more money, they could provide all the ASP.NET source codes and problem solutions for the labs on their site, but it isn't.As a result; give it a chance, it has some great content in it but this lab things will make you nervous.

First off, one of the authors of the book is the person who made burpsuite. It becomes quite clear you actually need to purchase burpsuite pro if you want to follow all of the hack steps in the book or understand a lot of the things they are talking about that aren't shown in the burpsuite free edition. The real problem for me is that it leads you to their lab which you have to pay $7 an hour for 1 hour increments. You have to take that full increment each time you want to practice. You can't stop your time so you have to take that full hour. You can imagine how quickly that would add up. Not a big deal if you read all the chapter and then try it out. Problem is when you are doing the hack steps there isn't a defined answer key for it. For example:Step 1. Locate all instances within the application where hidden form fields, cookies, and URL parameters are apparently being used to transmit data via the client.Step 2. Attempt to determine or guess the role that the item plays in the a application's logic, based on the context in which it appears and on clues such as the parameter's name.Step 3. Modify the item's value in ways that are .... and so on.Ok. So I THINK I found what I was looking for but I'm not 100% sure. How do I find the answers to make sure. ??????So the BIGGEST problem for me with each of these "hack steps" is that there isn't an answer key. They should have something like "You should have found on this page by performing these steps. Maybe something on the lab site to show you or pictures or something. Nothing is found for this for their labs. Showing an automated slide of them performing it would of helped.So once you hit chapter 4 you better buckle up because like another reviewer said it gets C.I.P.U. (clear if previously understood) real quick. Great book for intermediate-advanced people with webapp/security experience. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for beginners. I am still going through it but I thought the labs were really discouraging. The material is great and very relevant though. I think the labs could of done a lot better in my opinion.

I can't even tell you how many times I find myself referencing this book. Despite what some have suggested you don't need to have Burp Suite or do any labs. It's so full of insightful knowledge that it can replace a whole reference library all by itself. It doesn't just show you "how-tos" but helps you THINK differently - better - methodical. One little example is how the authors present the idea of overcoming filtering deployed by a WAF or web server. "
