Cute touch and feel book! On the plus side, great small size for little hands. On the down side, many of the textures are pretty much the same (monkey, puppy, kitten) and some are not so obvious (the zebra, the elephant or the snail). I was expecting a good variety of textures and the textures to represent a bigger portion of the page, too bad it wasn't the case.

I gave 3 stars because my son enjoys the book, however I feel that several of the pages are cop outs. Like with the elephant page, the "feel" part is the water droplets which are pretty much the same texture as the book itself. Same with the snail trail.

I agree with a lot of the complaints. There are some pages with just some sparkly, smooth paper. There are very few words (and the words there leave something to be desired). However, this was a favorite for both of our sons. And it has held up for three years despite a ton of abuse. The boys loved the textures and we just supplied our own words to describe the pictures.

I purchased this book for my cousin's one year old son. He absolutely adores this book. The animals are ones that kids know and love. He is still at the age where everything goes into his mouth, and I wanted to make sure I got him a book that kind of doesn't matter.I do wish that some of the animals in this book had more of a touch and feel like the other animals. For example, the tiger has sparkly grass and doesn't feel much different than the rest of the page. The page says "licking his nose", maybe they could have done something with a tiger and his nose. The zebra I couldn't even tell where the the touch and feel was at on him, there are tiny dots, that I am guessing is suppose to be the touch and feel.Other than some of the animals and their lack of touch and feel in this book, it is very cute. Simple enough to introduce books at a very early age, with pages that should hold up very well to a 1 year old.

My 1yr old loves touchy-feely books and animals so this one seemed perfect. Small, but thick book with sturdy pages and a squishy cover...so far it's held up well with the baby. She loves the different textures on the pages and we like that it's not your typical animal selections. Has rabbit, zebra, snail, tiger, monkey, and more with different textures for each and some slightly more interesting text, like how the tiger is licking his nose. It's a great way to practice animal noises, some of her favorites being "Ooh, ooh" for the monkey and growling for the lion. :)

I bought this for my sister's new baby. The book is very cute, with a few great sensory pages. Many of the pages don't offer great texture, and some don't have any texture that a small child would notice at all.- Physical quality is exactly what I'd expect from any board book. The pages are thick and durable. The cover is a little puffy.- The cover has fuzzy areas on the rabbits, just like the inside pages.- Some pages have nice soft fuzzy areas, even though they're all similar a child wouldn't mind.- The fuzzy areas are smaller than I'd expect for a children's book. Many of them are so tiny that they're hardly there at all.- Some pages just have weird cutouts with shiny material... not "touch and feel" at all - just areas of metallic paper. Misleading.- A baby / small child would probably enjoy it a bit still, since they usually enjoy animals in general...- And it was pretty cheap, I don't regret buying it - it could just be improved with more tactical / sensory areas.

Similar to the numbers book, there is not enough to feel. I bought this because research says at 6 months babies are interested in touch and feel of objects. Too much foil and raised nubs and not enough fuzzy stuff. For example, on the elephant page, the feel part is foil water droplets supposedly sprayed by the elephant. To me, the message is lost. The page says elephant but the feel is water? Maybe when he gets older it may be more interesting.

The pictures are lovely but the "fur" is a bit strange. The fuz on the bunnies on the cover is very different than the fur on the bunnies inside. The book does not have a furry kitten, only a FD faintly fuzzy yarn ball, which is odd. Odder still is the decision to include a snail slime trail, a starfish with some very faint bumps, and a goldfish with the same texture as the starfish.

This has a lot of interesting gourmet ice cream recipes. I am a pretty simple kind of girl. I really wasn't looking for gourmet ice cream recipes, so for me it was a little disappointing. But if you like those sorts of things this definitely your type of book! I gave it 3 stars because it didn't meet my needs, but that doesn't mean it won't meet the fancy cooks needs ha! You will probably love it!

This book is really great and my wife really loves it too! I guess that's what really matters lol. We really like the cookie dough ice cream recipe too.I recommend purchasing it because it's great to have all these delicious recipes on demand :)

I like Ice cream nice book easy recipes

Received this book today! Is excellent but mostly all the same recipes I have were identical in my Complete Cuisinart Ice Cream Book. Multiple identical recipes except this book is adapted to the Kitchenaid mixer. How did I get so fooled??? The authors of both books are different names, so expected different recipes; assuming each book was different. Was I wrong! They are written by same person. The inside sheets are identical in looks, typo, etc. So either buy one book OR other, not both. One of the books are worthwhile, but you don't need both.

Delightfully sweet and charming second-chance romance. These characters are so beautiful as they reconnect and become friends and lovers. The writing flowed and the story-line kept me reading this in one sitting.Cary and Fei will steam up your kindle with their connection, their memories and their journey to romance. These guys had a chance to look back on memories with new eyes and to build a today with someone they had crushed on years ago. The spark was there still and they had so much fun finding their way to their HEA.

This was a super sweet story of two secret high school crushes meeting again. Few and Cary are two of the cutest characters and loved their pairing.

It's not every day you get a chance with your "gay epiphany", but Carey's forced holiday just might be more than he could have dreamed when he sees his high-school crush pull in to pick him up from the airport. Finding out the tour guide is actually a hired four-day date? It could either be a disaster or an opportunity to be with Fei in a way he only fantasized about. As he and Fei give in to their attraction and their feelings begin to grow they have a chance to make something permanent, but only if they can overcome distance, past hurts, and confess what's in their hearts.This was incredibly sexy, very sweet, and so very good. I loved the idea of a second chance with an old crush that never got off the ground and this was done so well with enough of a conflict to pose an issue, but not enough to really threaten the relationship. With the story short enough to curtail some of the bonehead moves either man could have made, the focus was kept on the budding feelings and the surmountable odds that could keep them apart. Ugh, and the steam? FanTAStic. Carey was incredibly sweet and his heart was so perfect to balance Fei's insecurities. I was in love with the couple from the word go. This really just hit all my personal buttons, so while I'm not blind to some issues, I kind of am =].

You know that feeling where you stand at the side line with your fist in the air, jumping and screaming “you go guys!!” to encourage them ... and.... action!I loved them both Cary and Fei...Cary had a crush for Fei since... high school... since the locker room ...Fei had a crush for Cary since... high school... since and even before the locker room...After a decade they meet again... I've read Crystal Lacy's Oahu Lovers books, and one of my favorite things about those books is how she makes it so easy to envision this paradise that's on my bucket list of places to visit. She's done it again with this quickie of a read and she's created this sweet and sexy story about two men who were each other's high school crush and may very well find true love this time around. This was wonderfully paced, and let's face it, a lot of novellas and short stories suffer from overly fast pacing and a lack of character or story development. Thankfully, this book ticked every single thing on my check list and then some. Cary and Fei seemed like an unlikely couple on the surface, but once I started to get to know them better, they were like puzzle pieces that clicked into place when they were together. I absolutely adored Cary and Fei and love story made my heart feel full. Five stars for Kissed in Paradise. ♥

Plenty of easy to read fun little tips that are always worth knowing. I got this as a gift and it was a hit. Pretty sure he hasn't read every little thing in it, but enough of the things he has so far has caught his attention. Think he will be looking for trouble our next camping or fishing trip.

Between the practical advice and the description of basic survival skills this book is top drawer. It basically distills essential survival skills with a style and approach that will be clear to kid readers.The basic advice about what to do when lost, how to assess your situation, and how to decide what you need and how to get it is invaluable. Instructions about shelter, water, and the like are basic but sufficient.This is a great book to take along camping. You can practice and develop the survival skills that are described, and make a game or activity of erecting shelters, building a solar still, and so on. Being competent at bushcraft is worthy on its own and builds confidence and resourcefulness. I know this sounds odd, but practicing being lost is great fun, and even better if you're just practicing.Some outdoors and survival books look good but aren't necessarily very practical, (good luck with that rabbit trap). This book sticks to basics for kids and lays out a solid grounding for survival. A happy find.

I would not recommend this book. It offers a few tips that are worthwhile but several that are naive at best. Urinating in a water source is NOT the proper thing to do. I also do not understand why I would need to tell kids to look for aliens or "Bigfoot" to pique their interest in the woods. Nature offers plenty of realistic pursuits that kids find fascinating; bugs, rocks, animals, etc.

My 9yo son LOVES this book. Great practical advice in an easy to read language. He was inspired to fill a backpack with 'survival gear' (knife, compass, water, fire starter, banana, cereal bar, flashlight, spare batteries and this book in a ziplock bag! Not bad for a kid!). He also learned about tube tents and shelter building.I love that this is practical and keeps him adventuring and exploring instead of being glued to a screen. Great book!

I got this as a gift for a 10 year-old boy who loves the outdoors and reading. Oftentimes, it's hard to pick gifts for kids 10-13, because you don't want to get something too kiddie/"babyish," but you don't want to get something that will go over their heads, either. The recipient unwrapped the book, his eyes got huge with excitement as he read the title, and he immediately began flipping through the pages to see what it was about! Need I say more? I think he loved it. I'm so glad that I picked this book as a gift.

I bought this for my daughter. She LOVES it. I wasn't sure how informative it would be, but she keeps dropping survival facts that I didn't know! She's got an emergency kit that she's taken upon herself to put together with the aid of the book. Great for a beginner survival enthusiast.

My 9 year old daughter loves this book. She loves spending all of her time outside and learning about nature. Her new sights are on "survival". Learning about knots and footprints and all the different little hints about how to "roughneck it" in the wilderness. She made sure to pack this book on our weekend camping trip and had it out pretty much the entire time educating me on everything we saw. A great book and a great buy for any child who loves the outdoors.

I am learning so much from this book! It's well organized, well formatted, and lovely to read. I'm using it to teach my students about informative text. Being city kids, the topic of wilderness survival is completely unfamiliar to them. I wanted a brand new subject they'd never seen before, and this was a perfect fit. My reluctant readers are enjoying it immensely. It's been a great way to teach about informative text without being boring. AND. Now I know how to survive a mountain lion attack.

I purchased this for my 7-year-old nephew, and he loves it. When I recently visited him, he even told me all of the fun facts that he had learned, including that he should pee in a river as not to attract predators to his camp, and that animal droppings can make good fire starter. I was shocked that he was actually happy to get a 'book' as a gift.

I have several past editions of this guide and find it invaluable for identifying lures. I have identified unknown lures for Russ Lewis for his 6 book series and in the 6th edition of this guide identified an unknown lure... the Ping-a-tee...while it was still in production!!I don't rely on any of these guides for actual but only relative pricing value since condition is a very critical factor in the value of all fishing tackle. This guide along with the 6 volume set by Russell Lewis of more modern fishing tackle really covers anything you will probably find in any tackle box !

I already owned the sixth edition of this book, but purchased the eight edition in hopes that more information would be presented on some of the more obscure lure manufacturers. In some instances, this is the case, however, it seems that the author abbreviated much of the information on the more popular manufacturers in order to save space for the new companies added to the eighth edition. In many cases, I find myself still relying heavily on the older edition. Using both books seems to be the best solution.

This 670-page book contains much more than just descriptions of lures. I got the 5th Edition(1999) which serves me, a novice, very well. It contains lure descriptions, tips on collecting,and an expansive list of lures. I'm certain it will be a valuable reference as I move forward. The cost was a small fraction of the latest edition. I've already found information on a couple of lures that folks on Ebay had listed as "manufacturer unknown.

my husband received an old tackle box full of lures from a friend who just did not want it any more. we knew there were some from the early 20's to 40's,other than that we knew nothing about them. we found several books we thought might help us. we had a tough time deciding between this one and several others on amazon. at the last min we decided to get this one and are we glad. has wonderful history, easy to use index. it is a wealth of information. we have identified dozens of tackle. this book is HIGHLY recommended if you have alot of old lures.

A great book--an unbelievable amount of pictures and information. You'd have to search the internet for hours, maybe days, to find the pictures and descriptions contained here. Very impressive.

I didn't enjoy this one very much. The two main characters, Lennon and Zorie were OK, and as usual, Bennett is great at creating steamy romantic scenes. I enjoy them, I wait for them. However, the overall story and plot were a miss for me.Every secondary character that existed in this book was annoying. Zorie and Lennon's friends are a group of really horrible people, and it felt like they got off scot-free, which also bothered me.The whole nature aspect of the book was interesting until it stopped being interesting. I think my main issue with the book is that it kept digressing into random topics of space and nature and forests and weather and camping. The book was too long for the plot, and so it ended up dragging and felt like a story with no weight to back it up. It was all very predictable, and sure, I enjoy predictable once in a while, but I guess reading 2 or 3 Bennett books in a row, you start to feel like all her books and all her characters sound exactly the same.Lennon sounded way too much like Jack to me from Night Owls and Zorie was the dorky geeky protagonist, who sounded too much like Bex. Also, all her female protagonists have that quirky fashion sense. I did love Zorie's stepmom, but I was unconvinced by the whole dad situation and how that was resolved.So far, my favorite book for Jen Bennett was Alex, Approximately. It was perfectly balanced, the getting to know each other phase to the romance build up, to the family drama, to the big revelation at the end. This one was a big book filled with very little content, and Night Owls was too much romance with very little to back it up.I would skip this one.

How did I go this long without knowing of their existence? For real!Once I started Starry Eyes, like really started it (for the second time, it took me a little to started again like I previously said because of the other books I needed to read) I just couldn't put it down. Not even kidding, I took it with me to both my jobs, I read it in bed, I just was obsessed with what was happening.Lennon and Zorie are so cute and just give you couple goals, even now I have so many feels for their relationship. This relationship for some reason feels so real to me. I don't know if it's the writing or just how I was feeling when I read it, I just love it and it makes me feel things.Starry Eyes gets 4.5 out of 5 stars in my review book.There were so many amazing parts to this story, I mean most of the book is just pure bliss to read. There is just one faulty thing I noticed, it's how long it took for the camping trip to actually begin. I mean it didn't take really long, but to me it was a little too long and I was impatient to get to the camping because I knew the good stuff was going to happen once the camping started.So basically my impatience is the reason why it gets a 4.5 instead of 5.Now there are so many things I loved that if I mentioned them all I would definitely spoil the book for you and I don't want to do such thing.Lennon and Zorie are wrong time lovers. They both think they have unrequired love for each other and they try to suppress it as much as they can until Lennon can't take it anymore. Yes, it might sound weird because of what the synopsis says, but trust me, once you read it you will agree with me.Lennon has been in love with Zorie for a long time and though he thinks she is the one who gave up on him, he is determined to show her that they are destined to be together and that her father is wrong in so many levels about their relationship and he is tired of being afraid of him.Bennett's writing just transports you to the setting and it makes you feel all the things the characters are feeling, it's just fantastic.Starry Eyes is just an amazing story about self development, about confronting your own fears and getting out of your comfort zone. You never know what you are missing if you spend all your life planning and worrying about what could go wrong, sometimes you have to be, "careful not cautious," (quote from the book).Amazing read all together, completely recommend it, it's super fun and easy to read and you will not be disappointed!

I literally read this book while sitting on the beach so maybe my setting skewed the ultimate reading experience, but I don't think so. Jenn Bennett knocked this one out of the park. I love the outdoors, I love hiking and camping, and the whole time I was mentally jotting down every place Zorie an Lennon visited because I desperately wanted to be there. Maybe I'll get to go there someday. Each character in Starry Eyes felt fleshed out, most especially Zorie and Lennon. They felt like real people, real teens navigating a very messy world. Their romance gave me all the feels and I kind of want a prequel of sorts now. The writing flowed well, never bogged down, I really appreciated the descriptions because they helped set the scene and I could picture their adventure. Definitely a huge fan and will be passing it on to others.
